For almost 20 years,

I’ve lived in southwest Kansas in a region known as the High Plains. It’s a great place to live, southwest Kansas. It’s about 6 hours’ driving in any direction to arrive in an urban center–Denver, Omaha, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Santa Fe. And there’s no nearby interstate to get you there.

High Plains –elevation, that is–cattle, wheat, big sky, red state.
